CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Fan favorite and three-time PGA Tour champion Johnson Wagner committed to play in the fifth annual Greenbrier Classic, the Greenbrier announced on Thursday.
Wagner hasn't missed a Greenbrier Classic, finishing in a tie for 83rd in the inaugural event in 2010 for his worst finish and a T2 in 2013 for his best.
The former Virginia Tech golfer joins most-recent commitments Nick Taylor and K.J. Choi, as well as Jim Renner, Scott Langley, Mark Wilson, Chris Stroud, Ricky Barnes, Cam Tringale, Mike Weir, Webb Simpson, Brandt Snedeker, Bubba Watson and Tiger Woods.
The tournament week begins June 29 with the 72-hole PGA Tour event set for July 2-5 at the Old White TPC.
The defending champion is Angel Cabrera, who shot a pair of 6-under 64s in the third and fourth rounds to win by three strokes over George McNeill.
Cabrera has not announced his intentions for the 2015 Classic and could become the first champion to not defend his title in the brief history of the tournament.
