Every champion in the history of the Greenbrier Classic will have a chance this July to become the event's first repeat winner.

The tournament announced Tuesday that every past Classic champion will step onto The Old White TPC for the 2017 edition of the tournament, which begins Thursday, July 6. Stuart Appleby, Scott Stallings, Ted Potter Jr., Jonas Blixt, Angel Cabrera and Danny Lee all will tee off on the restored Old White course.

"The Greenbrier and the Greenbrier Classic put a major emphasis on family, and we consider all of our past champions as members of the Greenbrier family," said tournament executive director Habibi Mamone. We're always excited to see them back at the Greenbrier and what all six will be able to compete here at the Greenbrier Classic next month."

Appleby, the 2010 champ who shot a final-round 59 to capture that title, has played in 10 tournaments this season, making the cut in the first, finishing 74th at Sanderson Farms Championship. Appleby has nine career PGA Tour wins. Stallings got his first PGA Tour win at the 2011 Classic and has three total Tour wins. He has four top-25 finishes this season.

Potter, the 2012 Classic champ, continues a comeback from a 2014 broken ankle that stalled his career. He returned to the Web.com Tour and has made a coµple of PGA Tour starts in 2016. Blixt, the 2013 Classic champion, won his third career PGA Tour event in May, teaming with Cameron Smith to win the Zurich Classic in New Orleans. Blixt has four top-25 finishes this season. His entry already had been announced.

Cabrera, who has the 2007 U.S. Open and 2009 Masters championships to go with his 2014 Classic title, finished fifth at the Zurich Classic. Lee, the 2015 champ, has two top-10 finishes in 21 starts this season, a tie for fifth at the AT&T Byron Nelson and a sixth-place finish at the Dean & Deluca Invitational.

The Greenbrier Classic returns from a one-year hiatus due to the record flooding that damaged several areas of West Virginia, including Greenbrier County. Complementary grounds badges are still available, and those interested can go to GreenbrierClassic.com to register.
